FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

Build.
Code.
Compete.

Robotics brings mechanical construction, autonomous programming and real-time strategy into one shared engineering challenge. As a core member of FIRST 5449, I helped build the robot chassis, develop and debug autonomous code, and collect scouting data for competition analysis.

On the Competition Field

Engineering, in motion.

A closer look at the competition experience — where a robot's design, programming and execution come together in a dynamic environment.

My Engineering Contributions

Three parts of the process.

My role connected hands-on construction, autonomous programming and competition data — different tasks that contribute to a robot's preparation and a team's decisions.

01 / HARDWARE

Build the system.

Contributed to building the robot chassis and constructing a simulated competition field. This hands-on work provided practical experience with physical structures and the environment in which the robot would operate.

02 / SOFTWARE

Make it move.

Wrote and debugged autonomous code for the robot. The programming work formed part of preparing the robot to execute tasks during competition, alongside the team's mechanical and operational efforts.

03 / DATA

Learn from the field.

Collected and uploaded scouting data for analysis. This contribution connected match observations with the information the team could use to understand competition performance and inform its approach.

Beyond the Robot

Engineering is a team effort.

A competition robot is not a standalone machine. It is the result of people working across physical construction, programming, testing and strategic observation. My experience with FIRST 5449 brought these different dimensions together.

01

Construct

Work on the chassis and simulated field, translating engineering tasks into tangible structures.

02

Program & Debug

Write and debug autonomous code as part of preparing the robot for competition.

03

Observe & Analyze

Collect and upload scouting data, contributing information for competition analysis.

04

Compete Together

Bring the team's work into a competitive environment, culminating in regional success and participation at the FIRST Championship in Houston.

Competition Highlights

Built together.
Achieved together.

The team's results reflect a collaborative effort across engineering, programming, preparation and competition. These are team achievements, presented here in the context of my participation as a core member.

The Next Iteration

Build with purpose.
Improve through testing.

Robotics taught me to approach a challenge from multiple angles: the physical system, the code that guides it, and the information that helps a team make decisions. Each part matters, but the strongest results emerge when they work together.
